The Please Touch Museum is a nationally recognized children’s museum with a mission of learning through play. Figure 8 Thinking was engaged to expose a diverse group of staffers to design thinking, business model innovation and foresight strategies.
The team focused on 1) developing new integrative experiences for the future of play and 2) identifying new revenue streams that would help the museum shift away from being a “nice to have” to a “must have” in the market.
A diverse range of personnel were selected to participate: senior and junior levels; new hires and more tenured staff; integrated across departments. Figure 8 Thinking facilitated a foresight series focused on helping this team innovate the Please Touch Museum business model. All stakeholders were considered.
The net result was the design of several new revenue models and strategic partnerships in the local community and internationally.
